A new self-build project in Stevenston, Ayrshire sought to create a comfortable, energy-efficient home with modern heating solutions.
The customer was looking to decrease carbon emissions and energy bills by selecting a low-temperature solution for the whole house, and opted to use Polypipe Building Products’ advanced underfloor heating (UFH) systems.
The project incorporated UFH on both the ground floor, using the Solid Red Panel System, and the first floor, using the Overlay Plus Enhanced with Multi-Directional Transition Panels. These panels were securely fixed to the floor with rebated washers and screws, ensuring a durable and efficient installation.
Seamless installation and support
Acer Mechanical, a trusted and experienced installer of Polypipe Underfloor Heating, managed the installation. Polypipe Building Products’ close collaboration with Acer Mechanical during the planning and design phases ensured a smooth installation process. Regular communication informed the installer about the latest product developments, enabling them to adopt and install new technologies confidently.
Polypipe Building Products’ also facilitated a partnership between Acer Mechanical and Ardex, a provider of primers, levelling compounds, flexible tile adhesives, and grouts. This collaboration ensured compatibility across the entire floor finish, giving the installer and homeowner confidence in the project’s long-term performance.
