Dean Asher, Head of Technical Services at Genuit Group’s Sustainable Building Solutions business unit, has been announced as the new chairman of BEAMA’s Underfloor Heating Group.
Dean has been at the forefront of Polypipe Building Products’ underfloor heating offering and holds the position of UFH Business Lead at Genuit Group – Sustainable Building Solutions as well as his role as Head of Technical Services. With over 20 years of experience in the plumbing and heating industry, and an unrivalled amount of experience, knowledge and enthusiasm, Dean will work closely with BEAMA and its members to steer the group in the right direction to achieve their shared goals and objectives.
Following the announcement, Dean said:
“I am delighted to be appointed the role of Chairman for the BEAMA UFH Group. This is a fantastic opportunity to work with dynamic and forward-thinking businesses.
With the push towards the Future Homes Standard, UFH is really starting to come into the mainstream whereas previously, it had been seen as a more desirable product rather than a sustainable heating solution. The focus of low temperature heating solutions makes this a very exciting time to be part of the industry.
It is an honour to work with the BEAMA members who have a vast amount of technical and commercial knowledge to help ensure that the industry continues to grow, while guaranteeing that standards are maintained and improved as we head towards a zero-carbon future.”
Before his tenure was announced, we caught up with Dean to find out more about his new appointment and why working with BEAMA is so important to him.
What made you put your name forward for the role of Chairman of BEAMA’s Underfloor Heating Group?
I have a real passion for the underfloor heating industry, and this was a rare opportunity that I didn’t want to pass up. BEAMA is an important part of the industry and for me to be the Chairperson would be a real highlight of my career. I feel extremely privileged to have been appointed to the role.
As Chairman, what kind of work will you be doing with the group?
The members of BEAMA are all highly recognised businesses within the UFH industry; my main role really is to just facilitate the group in ensuring that standards are met and the UFH industry continues to grow with the push towards sustainable low temperature heating.
Polypipe Building Products have been members of BEAMA for quite some time now. Why is it important to join an organisation such as BEAMA a business such as Polypipe?
Membership to BEAMA stands as a badge of quality. It makes a real statement about the quality of a business’s processes, products, and methods of design which are imperative in our market and offer the end-user peace of mind about their UFH system.
What are you most excited about working on in your role as Chairman?
So many things to be honest, one of the real passions I have is to ensure that BEAMA membership stands for a true badge of quality and that installers of UFH products are always following best practice regardless of which products they choose to purchase.
