1. About the Approved Engineer Terms

These terms, (hereinafter referred to as the “Approved Engineer Terms”) set out the terms and conditions that apply to you (hereinafter referred to as “Approved Engineer’s”) which is operated by Polypipe Building Products, a registered trading division of Polypipe Limited. Company Registration No 01099323. Registered Office: 4 Victoria Place, Holbeck, Leeds, LS11 5AE (hereinafter referred to as “Polypipe Building Products”, “Us” or “We”.

These Approved Engineer Terms do not alter the terms or conditions of any other agreement you may have with Polypipe Building Products or Polypipe stocking merchants for products or services. Our Privacy notice explains how your personal data will be used by Us.

Please read these terms and conditions carefully so you understand the agreement between Us. By applying to becoming an Approved Engineer, you agree to be bounded by these terms. If you do not agree to these terms, you should not apply.

2. Application

You can apply to become an Approved Engineer if you are an Installer, Heating Engineer, Plumber or similar role, in which you install or service Underfloor Heating. You must be a resident of the United Kingdom and aged 18+.

3. Eligibility Criteria – Requirements, rules & guidelines

The eligibility criteria may be updated or amended from time to time. We have no obligation to update you of these changes.
(a) Have relevant qualifications deemed by the industry or any of the following: BPEC Accreditation, ACOPS, ACS, Gas Safe Register/RGI (ROI) and/or OFTEC registration.
(b) Being competent to practise, meaning the installation of our products.
(c) Appropriate Public Liability Insurance
(d) Are assessed by Us upon application, and We are satisfied with your standard of work. This assessment involves Us reviewing your social media and/ or website followed by a call and site visit.

4. Advertising & Marketing

Approved Engineers may only promote their services honestly and lawfully. Approved Engineers must have fair and honest sales practises. Approved Engineers must not be charging fees that are discriminatory or excessive.

5. Continuing Eligibility

Approved Engineers must immediately notify us if their relevant qualifications expire or trading ceases.

6. Withdrawal/ termination from the Approved Engineer network

We are entitled to withdraw you from the network at any time if you breach our Terms and Conditions. You may withdraw from the network by serving written notice. If you choose to withdraw, you must complete all installations that have been committed to be carried out or make appropriate arrangements for another Approved Engineer to carry out the works. Withdrawal or termination from the Approved Engineer network will result in all benefits being removed immediately.

7. Code of Conduct

This Code of Conduct sets out the standards of conduct and practise We expect of our Approved Engineers. Failure to follow the below may result in termination of your membership.
7.1 Integrity – Must at all times act with integrity.
7.2 Competence – Must carry out work professionally and to the highest technical standards expected.
7.3 Training – You will have correct training to ensure competency with Polypipe Underfloor Heating systems. This includes ongoing professional development that will be arranged by Us.
7.4 Advertising – You must only promote your services truthfully.

8. Updating Information

You must notify Us by email to ufh.enquiries@polypipe.com of any change to your business name, contact or email so We can update our system.

9. Co-operation

Approved Engineers shall co-operate fully with all Polypipe Building Products staff, and anyone appointed on our behalf.

10. Sales Leads

It is your responsibility to follow up any leads passed to you by Us. You should deal with them swiftly and efficiently. If it is not possible to quote a customer due to work overload, you must contact Us so we can assign another Approved Engineer to the customer. It is of utmost importance that our customers hold Approved Engineers in high regard. We will store a record of all leads passed to you. Members not responding to sales leads repeatedly may be removed from the Approved Engineer network.

There is no guarantee of any volume of work.

11. Liability

We do not accept any liability for any works carried out by an Approved Engineer.
